European Commission launches new strategy to strenghten Europe's research and technology infrastructures

On 15 of September, the Commission launched a comprehensive strategy to strengthen research and technology infrastructures across the EU, aiming to boost Europe’s global leadership in scientific excellence and innovation. 

This strategy aligns with broader EU goals, including the Startup and Scaleup Strategy and the forthcoming AI in Science Strategy, and responds to calls for action in the Draghi and Horizon Europe reports.

The strategy puts forward a set of actions in five areas:

1.Strengthening the European research and technology infrastructures ecosystem

2.Ensuring simpler and better access to research and technology infrastructures

3.Attracting and cultivating talent in Europe

4.Improving and simplifying the governance framework

5.Strengthening the international dimension and resilience of research and technology infrastructures
